More than 71,000 strollers and seats are being recalled by UPPAbaby due to a choking hazard.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) said children could bite off a piece of the stroller’s foam crossbar. UPPAbaby has received 22 reports of children biting off chunks of the bumper bar foam.
The recall affects 2015 Cruz and Vista strollers and RumbleSeats. The RumbleSeat is a separate seat attachment that can be attached to the stroller frame. All three products have gray and black frames, black fabric seats, a colored fabric canopy and a black basket under the seat. The RumbleSeat is a separate seat that can be attached to the frame of a stroller. The UPPAbaby name and logo are printed on the side of the canopy and “CRUZ” is printed in white lettering on the handlebars of the stroller.
All of the affected items were sold at BuyBuyBaby and other retailers through Amazon.com from December 2014 through July 2015. The Cruz stroller retailed for about $500, while the Vista cost about $860. The RumbleSeat costs about $170.
Consumers should stop remove and stop using the bumper bar on the Cruz and Vista strollers and RumbleSeats and contact UPPAbaby to receive a free bumper bar cover and warning label.
